Kamgaar ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Kamgaar mobile application and the website at kamgaar.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

By using Kamgaar, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

We collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: Your name, phone number, and profile details (such as skills, experience, and availability status for workers).
• Profile Photos: Photos you voluntarily upload to your worker profile.
• Location Data: Your precise or approximate geographic location, collected to show nearby workers on the map for customers or to display your position when you are marked as available.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, such as search queries, pages viewed, call counts, and session duration.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and browser type (for the website).

We use the collected information to:

• Connect customers with nearby workers based on location and skill requirements.
• Display worker profiles (name, phone, skills, ratings) to customers.
• Verify user identity through OTP-based phone authentication.
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
• Improve, personalize, and optimize the platform experience.
• Monitor and analyse usage trends and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Kamgaar collects location data to power its core feature — showing nearby available workers on a map for customers.

• For Workers: Your location is collected and shared on the map only when you are marked as available. When you go offline or disable availability, your location is no longer visible.
• For Customers: Your location is used to centre the map and find workers near you. It is not stored on our servers.
• You can revoke location permissions at any time from your device settings.

Worker profile photos are stored securely on Cloudinary, a third-party cloud media service. When you upload a new profile photo, the previously stored photo is permanently deleted from Cloudinary's servers.

We use Firebase Authentication for OTP-based phone verification. OTP codes are generated and managed by Firebase; we do not store OTP codes on our servers. Rate limiting is enforced to prevent abuse.

We use the following third-party services to operate Kamgaar. These services may collect data as described in their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — Authentication (OTP), cloud messaging, and analytics.
• MongoDB Atlas — Secure cloud database for storing user and worker data.
• Cloudinary — Cloud storage for profile photos.
• Google Analytics — Website traffic and usage analytics.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
• Passwords (for admin accounts) are hashed using bcrypt.
• Authentication tokens are managed using JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with secure, HTTP-only cookies.
• API rate limiting and input sanitisation are in place to prevent abuse.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services.

• You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us via WhatsApp or email (see below).
• Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will remove your data from our active databases within 30 days.
• Certain data may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form for analytics purposes, where it can no longer be used to identify you.

Kamgaar is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective from" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes. Continued use of Kamgaar after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
